The most striking feature of the interior decoration is the large fresco on the vault of the nave, which is the grandiose Triumph of the Name of Jesus by Giovanni Battista Gaulli. The painting, finished in December 1679, is considered to be the Gaulli’s masterpiece, and, in the opinion of some, the best painting of the sort in Rome.
