This chapel reflects the original dedication of the early church. Saint James the Great is the patron saint of Spain. The work of Antonio da Sangallo the Young, completed in 1523. It was commissioned by Cardinal Antonio Maria Ciocchi del Monte, in execution of the will of Cardinal Jaime Serra I Cau, Archbishop of Arborea (Oristano), died in 1517, who is buried in the chapel.
