Between the Chapel of the Miraculous Madonna and the Chapel of St. Joseph is a bust of St. Maximilian Kolbe, who volunteered to die in place of a stranger in the German death camp of Auschwitz. Above the bust is a plaque stating that this was the chapel where he said his first Mass. Above that is another plaque again addressing the visitation to Ratisbonne.
