The altarpiece, The Madonna, is a copy painted in 1647 by the Neapolitan painter Alessandro Grancesi, the original being in San Paolo Maggiore in Naples. On 7 December, 1678 the Chapter of the Vatican adorned the head of the Divine Mother and the Son with a single gold crown.
