The large chapel off the middle of the left hand aisle is the early 18th century chapel dedicated to St Gertrude the Great. It has a rectangular plan, with a white marble balustrade. The altar has a pair of red and white breccia Corinthian columns supporting two halves of a split pediment, with stucco heads of cherubs and an angel supporting the cross, and a large lunette window above.
