The atrium here consists of a courtyard paved with random fragments of stonework, obviously some of the rubble dug out of the lower church. There is a small modern fountain in the middle, and two palm trees in front of the façade. Down the sides are colonnaded walkways which are not arcaded, but trabeated (post-and-rail design). The entrance walkway has an arcade under the mediaeval house, with three arches on massive unadorned pillars.
