On the altar wall is a Crucifixion, which is the centerpiece of the artistic composition. The fresco is not in very good condition, and has been mutilated in two places. The left hand blank patch marks the location of a tabernacle, while at the bottom right is a long and rather tedious epigraph in honor of Cardinal Benedetto Naro. This latter piece of vandalism was executed in 1832.
