To either side of the altar are 19th century statues in stucco of SS. Peter and Paul. They are copies of the two statues placed in Saint Peter's square, a gift of Blessed Pius IX. Above these is a pair of tondi with portraits of saints by Ercole Ruspi of about 1850; St Francis de Sales is on the left, and St Alexander Sauli on the right.
