The chapel is a memorial chapel for Blessed Ludovica Albertoni. The Blessed Ludovica, who lived and worked in Rome between 1473 and 1533 and dedicated her life to the poor and orphans, is today Patroness of the tertiary brothers of the Roman Secular Franciscan Order and Patroness of the City of Rome.
