Within the niches that Borromini made by enclosing the columns have been place these colossal statues of Apostles and Evangelists. The photos are of the statues preceding from the left rear of the nave counterclockwise to the last pier on the right side:

Above the statues are bas-reliefs panels with Old Testament scenes on the left and related scenes from the New Testament on the right. The 17th century panels are by Alessandro Algardi:
