The altarpiece is a detached fresco of the Madonna and Child (Sienese area 15th century) in an intricately carved wreath of green verde antico marble within an outer wreath of white marble. This has no aedicule, but is flanked by a pair of white marble cameos portraying St. Francis and St. Bonaventure, made by Paolo Naldini.
