Nicolaus Perelli of Naples From the noble family of Montis Staracis, who, having served excellently as magistrate of the Apostolic Chamber, was admitted into the Sacred College of Cardinals by Pope Clement XIII on the 8th day before the Kalends of October (September 24), 1759. His outstanding service to the state, by strengthening the port of Ancona with breakwaters and embankments under his supervision, greatly enhanced the commerce of the Papal States. He lived for 75 years, 4 months, and 4 days. He died on the 6th day before the Kalends of March (February 24), 1772." |
