Adjacent to the church on the left hand side is the ancient so-called Arco degli Argentari, or Arch of the Moneychangers. It was erected in AD 204 in honor of Emperor Septimius Severus and the imperial family by the moneychangers and livestock merchants based at the adjacent Forum Boarium.
