The marble memorial was designed by the architect Léon Vaudoyer and the bust is by Paul Lemoyne.
The epitaph reads: Spare your pious tears, for Poussin lives in ths urn, he gave to live being himself unable to die. Here, however, he is silent; if you wish to hear him speaking, it is a wonder that he lives and speaks in his pictures. |
