The fresco of Pope Sylvester Presiding at the Synod of 324 is by Galeazzo Leoncino from 1640. The Pope called this synod in preparation for the Council of Nicaea, and another synod in 325, confirming the acts of the Council, in which Arius, Sabellius and Victorinus were condemned. The Emperor Constantine attended both synods.
