On either side of the statue are marble reliefs between the columns in a pale green brecciated marble. The one on the left, by Nicolas Mostaert and Egidio della Riviera, depicts Pope St Pius Commissioning Count Sfòrza di Santa Fiora to Fight the Huguenots in France.
