Pope Sixtus V (1585-1590) is buried on the right-hand side of the chapel. The monument is by Domenico Fontana, and matches the slightly earlier shrine of Pope St Pius V very closely. The central statue of the pope is by Giovanni Antonio Paracca, Il Valsoldo.
