The next memorial is to Cardinal Mariano Pierbenedetti, a good example of polychrome marble Baroque. White, black, yellow and pavonazzetto marbles are used. A pair of Ionic columns in a pinkish marble supports a segmental pediment with a broken cornice. The portrait bust has a white marble head set on a porphyry torso, in imitation of an ancient fashion.
