The sanctuary is a deep and high barrel-vaulted apse with a conch. The sanctuary archivolt has on it the coat-of-arms of Cardinal Gastaldi again, in stucco with supporting angels, a work by Antonio Raggi who was also responsible for the other decorative elements in the church. The barrel vault has a simple X decoration focusing on a rosette.
