Cappella Cibo
There are eight columns flanking the altar, and two more on each side near the entrance. This melancholic use of polychrome stonework is one of the features of Baroque funerary chapels, and is intended to create a brooding atmosphere. Below the altar is an urn containing the relics of the obscure Roman martyr St Faustina, which were brought here from the catacombs.
