The chapel used to be dedicated to St John the Baptist, but when it was re-dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus the old altarpiece was banished to the Winter Choir. A painting of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart is on the left hand wall and the saucer dome contains a fresco of her with the Christ-Child by Nicola Trometta.
