Below the central window in the apse is a mosaic panel by Cavallini showing SS Peter and Paul presenting the donor of the mosaics, one Cardinal Bertoldo Stefaneschi (from a noble Trastevere family), to the Madonna and Child in a nimbus or rainbow halo. It has the cardinal's family coat-of-arms.
