The altar of the chapel was consecrated by the Carmelite Giovanni Antonio Bovio, bishop of Molfetta, on November 17, 1609. The entire pictorial cycle proposes to illustrate, through sixteen scenes, the events of the saint in the first half of the fifteenth century. All the paintings were painted by Giovanni Battista Ricci da Novara, who died in 1627 and was buried in this chapel; today, however, his tomb is no longer visible, perhaps having disappeared as a result of various reconstruction and restoration works.
