Above the cornice, the central nave side walls have large rectangular windows separated by fresco panels illustrating Scenes of the Passion. This fresco cycle includes the large one of the Crucifixion (1613) on the counterfaçade, and two smaller ones above it, all by Giovanni Battista Ricci of Novara.
Unfortunately, because of the light from the windows, and the poor state of the frescoes, it is very difficult to see and photograph them. |
