Mario Frangipani commissioned Taddeo Zuccari to decorate his family chapel. The pictorial decoration is one of the most significant cycles of the mid-sixteenth century. The artist undertook the works in 1558 or the beginning of the following year and died before finishing them. They were completed by his brother Federico.
