In May 2018, a new gilded bronze "pro populo" altar in front of the high altar was consecrated. The sculptor is Federico Severino. This is a very impressive high-relief work, depicting a scene from the Book of Revelation featuring the Lamb of God and the Martyrs Clothed in White.
