On the left side of the sanctuary is the tomb of Charles Frederick of Jülich-Cleves-Berg, the grandson of Emperor Ferdinand I, who unexpectedly died of smallpox at the age of 19 in Rome during a pilgrimage and Grand Tour.
He was the nephew of Anne of Cleves who was briefly married to Henry VIII of England.
