The first chapel to the left by the main entrance is dedicated to Sts. Bridget and Catherine. The chapel was founded in 1516 by Ferrando Ponzetti. He was the body physician to Pope Innocent VIII. and rose to become treasurer of Leo X. In 1517 he was created Cardinal, but came to a tragic end in 1527 during the sack of Rome. He is buried here.
