In the chamfered corners are little niches with scalloped conchs, and these contain stucco statues of the Cardinal Virtues: Prudence, Justice, Temperance and Fortitude. The side walls have two works by Ludovico Stern. On the left wall, San Carlo in Ecstasy while meditating on the Crucifixion (the angels are holding the Instruments of the Passion).
