This chapel has a doorway passing into the Chapel of St Zeno. Above the door is a fresco showing the Flagellation of Christ, painted by Francesco Gai in 1863 Here, the realistic depiction shows how the little Column of the Flagellation venerated in the church is meant to have functioned.
