The chapel was fitted out by Giorgio Vasari, 1552, on the commission of Pope Julius III. Michelangelo is recorded as supervisor. The altarpiece is Paul conducted to Ananias to recover his sight, by Vasari, who left a part of his self-portrait in black dress among the other figures.
