The chapel is now dedicated jointly to the Blessed Virgin Mary and St John the Evangelist. The aedicule has a pair of rather thin Ionic columns in grey marble. They support a triangular pediment broken by an inserted tablet crowned by a segmental pediment; the tablet contains an inscription dedicating the chapel to the Virgin and Saint John.
