The cupola rests on pendentives on which are painted four angels. The cupola itself is divided into panels by stuccowork. Four scenes from the Old Testament are depicted on these panels, all of them prefigurations of Mary: Solomon with the Queen of Sheba; Solomon with Bathsheba; Esther before Ahasuerus; Bathsheba pleading with David to proclaim her son Solomon as his successor.
