The left hand wall depicts San Pietro Igneo Aldobrandini, an early Vallombrosan monk and disciple of St John Gualbert, who allegedly proved that the bishop of Florence was a simoniac by walking through a fire unharmed. The work is by Angelo Soccorsi.
