The painting on the right hand wall shows the Execution of Tesauro Beccaria, a Vallombrosan monk and cardinal who was beheaded in Florence for favoring the Ghibelline (pro-papal) party. He used to be regarded by the Vallumbrosans as a martyr, but without official sanction. The artist was Domenico Pestrini.
