The Martyrdom of Saint Lucia and Euphemia
The twenty-sixth fresco. Euphemia is buried in a snake's nest on the left, while Lucia is killed by a soldier on the right (A). Behind are martyrs who have their eyes gouged out (B). Others are placed in lead coffins and thrown into the river (C) and on the right some have been dismembered and others hanged (D). The text above is another quote from a Psalm: "Exultabunt. ossa. humiliata. Psalm. 50".
